Quote of the Week:
Have you ever wondered how you can make a difference? I did and I have made a difference. This past August, I embarked on a journey that brought me to Alaska to accomplish that goal. I had to endure many months of rigourous training in order to prepare myself for the amazing task that had rested before me. The challenge I am speaking of was the 2001 Alaska AIDS Vaccine Ride. It was an experience that has changed my life. I, alongside 1,100 riders rode my bicycle across Alaska. The adventure began in Fairbanks and ended 6 long days later in Anchorage. The total trek covered approximately 455 miles. It was originally scheduled for 500 miles but due to road construction, it had to be cut short. With participants from around the country and world, we were a diverse group. We however, all have one dream in mind...."TO MAKE AIDS HISTORY!!! With the 2001 Alaska AIDS Ride now in the past, we have all taken one more step forward to make that dream a reality."
